"Verily, what a believer continues to receive (in the form of reward) for his action and his virtues after his death is the knowledge that he acquired and then disseminated, the pious (child) that he left behind, a copy of the Qur'aan that he left as a legacy, the mosques that he built, the inn that he built for the use of travelers, the canal that he caused to flow, or charity that he gave while he was healthy and alive. (These are the acts of goodness the reward of which) reaches him even after his death."

Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 90

Mission Statement

To provide appropriate infrastructure and a source of continuing financial support for religious and social activities of the growing community served by Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center.

Anticipated facilities will focus on providing a safe, supportive environment for Muslim students and youth and will include student housing, space for educational services, and recreational facilities.

Project Description

The proposed location is just across the parking lot of the existing masjid. This proximity allows people to go back and fourth between the masjid and the new building on foot.

Five goals can be achieved by the Expansion of Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center project:

1) It'll serve as a WAQF (Endowment). Follow the Sunna by making a waqf and dedicating its returns as a perpetual sadaqa (Sadaqa Jarya)
2) It'll generate enough income to cover its expenses as well as most of those of the masjid.
3) It'll provide an approved housing for Muslim students.
4) It'll provide a huge multi-purpose room to
accommodate the various activities of the students and the community.
5) It'll have additional classrooms for the CIMIC Weekend School (CWS).
